Chew Valley Reservoir, near Bristol ,Somerset, BS40 8XS – View Map

Chew Valley Reservoir is the jewel in the crown of Bristol Water Fisheries and boasts a healthy stock of large pike.

It is a prolific commercial trout fishery which has no doubt contributed to the size of the pike over the years. However, it holds an abundance of coarse fish and is of an average shallow depth making it a great venue for fishing for pike on the fly.
Many fish over 40 pounds are caught each year on both the fly and other methods and the lake holds the current British record for a pike of 47lbs 5oz caught in February 2024.

This water is suitable for the veteran or newcomer to pike fly fishing alike and is open from March each year for this discipline.

The staff at this fishery hold the right to cancel / suspend pike fly fishing if weather or water temperatures deem it unsafe to do so.
A really exciting venue to fish knowing that the next pull on the line could be a monster.

Pike Fly Fishing guided services - Rutland LakeRutland Water is a massive man made lake in the Rutland countryside and is currently run as a commercial trout fishery but holds a large head of predatory fish such as Pike, Zander and Perch.

The lake opens for Pike Fly Fishing on the 1st May each year when the pike migrate into the shallower areas of the lake making fly fishing for them more interesting and productive.

Some large fish over 30 pounds get caught each year making this an exciting venue with many acres of water to cover.

Due to the depth of water the lake keeps a steady temperature at most times but again the closing / suspension of fishing is at the discretion of Anglian Water Parks.

A really pretty big water to fish which can turn up a surprise or two on the day.
